UMass and Georgia have agreed to play football in 2018 and men’s basketball in 2017 and 2018.

Georgia will host the football game and each team will host one basketball game.

“I am pleased we have scheduled a 2018 football game ‘between the hedges’ at Georgia,” Bamford said. “It will be a great experience for members of our football program and will provide us increased visibility against an SEC opponent in an area of the country where Coach (Mark) Whipple and his staff are recruiting prospective student-athletes. In addition, we are also thrilled to schedule a home-and-home basketball series with the Bulldogs in future years.”

UMass will receive $1.5 million for the games.

The football game will be Nov. 17, 2018 in Athens, Georgia. UMaass has 11 FBS games scheduled for that season. They’ll likely add an FCS game to complete the slate.

The schedule looks like this:

Sept. 1 at BC

Sept. 8 at Georgia Southern

Sept. 15 at FIU

Sept. 22 vs. Charlotte

Sept. 29 at Ohio University

Oct. 6 vs. South Florida

Oct. 20 vs. Coastal Carolina

Oct. 27 at UConn

Nov. 3 vs. Troy

Nov. 10 vs. BYU

Nov. 17 at Georgia

The basketball series which still needs to have dates finalized will play in Amherst in 2017 and Athens, Georgia in 2018.
