SOUTH HADLEY — Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a secluded, wooded area off of Old Lyman Road at around 11 a.m. Monday.

According to South Hadley Police Chief Steve Parentela, South Hadley and Ludlow police were searching the area for a 26-year-old man missing from Ludlow when they discovered the body. The body that was found is “possibly in connection” to the missing man.

“We believe this is an isolated incident,” Parentela said. “There’s no threat to the neighborhood.”

The department is also working with Ludlow Police and state police with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office in the investigation.

The investigation is continuing, and police are waiting on possible identification of the individual from the medical examiner’s officer.
