Frank Martin is bringing another big piece from South Carolina to the UMass basketball program.

Center Wildens Leveque announced Monday on Twitter that he was transferring to UMass, joining the Gamecocks exodus north.

He’s the second former South Carolina player to follow Martin to Amherst, joining Ta’Quan Woodley. Assistant coaches Will Bailey and Brian Steele also accompanied Martin to fill out his staff.

“I’M ALL IN,” Leveque tweeted, with a photo of him, Woodley and Martin all in UMass gear.

Leveque played three seasons at South Carolina. The 6-foot-10, 255-pound post player averaged 6.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season. He led South Carolina with 29 blocks. The Brockton native was on the Gamecocks squad that beat UMass in Amherst in December of 2019.

He played prep school basketball at Gould Academy in Maine, where he was a three-star recruit. Website 247sports listed him as the No. 1 player in Massachusetts in his high school class.
