South Hadley Police investigating ‘extensive’ vandalism at high school

SOUTH HADLEY — South Haldey Police are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred at South Hadley High School over the weekend.
According to a notification sent to parents and caregivers by Superintendent Mark McLaughlin, school staff discovered damage to the auditorium area early Monday morning. The message did not specify the amount or type of damage found.
“The police were immediately notified and an investigation is ongoing,” the message continues. “The school district is working closely with the South Hadley Police Department and will continue to do so throughout the course of the investigation.”
A statement from the South Hadley Police Department called the damage “extensive.” The department is actively investigating the case, and directed any questions or concerns to School Resource Officer Joshua Helems.
