NORTHAMPTON – With a two-month cover of snow nearly gone from David Wright Field on Thursday, Northampton High School senior Jonathan Marshall resumed practicing his field goal kicks, while all around him the track and field team warmed up for its first in-person practice of the year. Marshall, a captain on the soccer squad his junior year, sat out that sport last fall in order to attend classes at Greenfield Community College but now, with the recent approval of football in the Fall II season, he’s setting his sights on kicking for the Blue Devils football team. Marshall was splitting the uprights consistently from about 40 yards out, assisted by a good tail wind.
