FLORENCE – Elaine Parmett worked on a garden of perennials, including tulips and daffodils, in the front yard of her home on Thursday. A recent transplant herself, Parmett lived for many years in Shelburne Falls where she was a longtime volunteer at the Bridge of Flowers. When she moved to Florence last year she brought many of the perennials from her home garden - her "children" as she calls them – to her new digs.
