LEVERETT — Leverett Village Co-op volunteers picked up a display freezer from the Atkins Farms Country Market’s former satellite store in North Amherst on Wednesday and, in a marathon effort, managed to squeeze it through the front door of the grocery.

After removing the door’s threshold below, and its closing mechanism above, the crew found success with about an inch to spare on each side and less than a centimeter above.
