NORTHAMPTON — A Florence resident was sent to the hospital Friday after being struck by a vehicle on King Street, according to police.
Police officers, along with the Northampton Fire Rescue, responded to the area of the Hotel Northampton at 36 King St. around 10:59 a.m. Friday for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to a statement released by the Northampton Police Department on its Facebook page. A 42-year-old Florence resident was hit in the crosswalk, police said.
The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
