Cites Lindsay Sabadosa’s leadership, stamina

I first met Lindsay Sabadosa following the massive Women’s March in January 2017, organized to protest Donald Trump’s presidency.

Sabadosa, as director of the Pioneer Valley Women’s March, organized dozens of buses and thousands of people to travel from the Northampton area to Washington, D.C. I had heard her name around multiple tables, heralded as an incredible organizer, leader and a person who is tireless and tenacious in her pursuit of progressive change.

A year and a half later, I can speak personally to those qualities and many more that will make Sabadosa an extraordinary state representative on behalf of the 1st Hampshire District. I have had the privilege of working closely with her in the Pioneer Valley Resist Coalition, a group that facilitates coordination and collaboration among the many groups working to resist Trump’s policies and promote state laws to better serve us all.

Sabadosa’s leadership has been critical in making the Pioneer Valley’s voice of resistance as strong as it can be from here to Boston. Her advocacy on numerous issues, including Medicare for All and the Safe Communities Act, have already left a strong mark on Beacon Hill. Sabadosa knows what it takes to bring constituent voices to the forefront, to build alliances with fellow legislators, and to move the progressive agenda forward.

I have been nothing less than astounded by her stamina and determination. She sustains more relationships with legislators, activists and organizations in more capacities — director, board member, strategist, not to mention Jackson Street School variety show director — than seem physically possible, all while being a devoted single parent to a wonderful 11-year-old daughter.

Her exuberance for what she does, including being on the campaign trail (see lindsaysabadosa.com for more), is its own testimony to what she will bring to our district.

Sabadosa’s win would be a win for each and every one of us. We will have an exceptional advocate for the people of the 1st Hampshire District.

Let’s do what it takes to make it happen. Please join me in voting for Lindsay Sabadosa on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
