H.S. Skiing: Hampshire Regional crowds boys podium at PVIAC Race No. 1

Hampshire Regional took three of the top five spots in the season-opening PVIAC boys giant slalom race at Berkshire East in Charlemont on Thursday.

Edward Pryzbyla finished third overall in 27.21 seconds followed shortly behind by teammate Zach Ames in 27.21. Dawson Kelly took fifth (27.99).

Frontier Regional’s Ben Martino, racing for Mohawk Trail’s cooperative program, was sixth overall (28.1). Northampton’s Nate Jones placed seventh (28.13).

Beckett Baird of Amherst finished 10th (28.46). Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School’s Clayton English was 21st (30.14).

In the girls slalom, Northampton’s Chloe Denhart placed third (37.76). Fellow Blue Devil Ellie Mahoney was fourth (39.18).

Amherst’s Sea Kay Leung took ninth (42.95). Summer Duda of Hampshire followed in 11th (43.72). Juliet Scott of PVCICS finished 12th overall (43.8)
