Two top-15 results propel Hampshire girls skiing to 2nd in South

Two top-15 finishers boosted the Hampshire Regional girls alpine ski team to a first-place finish in the South division team race Monday at Berkshire East.

Taya Gilman-Soloman placed14th in the giant slalom, clocking 26.8 seconds, while Summer Duda was right behind her in 15th at 26.95.

Amherst Regional placed second in the South led by Sora Green in 19th overall (27.65).

Frontier Regional was second in the North behind Coriann Delaney, third overall in 24.87 seconds.

Abbie Denhart finished eighth (26.27), leading Northampton to third in the North.

Juliet Scott took 13th for Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School (26.72).

Jessica Garriepy was 18th for Gateway (27.18).

On the boys side, Gateway took second in the North thanks to a seventh-place finish from Zachary Ames. He finished the slalom in 34.03 seconds.

Nathaniel Jones was third for Northampton (33.22), as the Blue Devils took third in the North.

Amherst finished eighth in the north, but Joey Green finished 15th (36.32).

Sebastian English led PVCICS to a second-place finish in the south, taking 13th (36.06).

Hampshire finished third in the South behind Edward Przybyla in ninth (34.5).

Ben Martino paced Frontier in 23rd (39.15).
