SOUTH HADLEY — The victim of a two-car crash Sunday night has been identified as Thomas P. Flanagan, 29, of Westfield, according to Northwestern district attorney’s office.
The collision occurred at 124 College St. (Route 116), shortly after 7 p.m.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that one of the vehicles crossed over the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle,” Mary Carey, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office said in a statement Monday.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Flanagan was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car that crossed over the center line was also transported to Baystate with non-life-threatening injuries, Carey said.
She added that the accident remains under investigation and it is not clear if the surviving driver would face charges. The driver has not yet been identified by authorities.
South Hadley, Massachusetts State Police collision analysis officials and the DA’s office are all assisting in the investigation.
