The Northampton Education Foundation's 20th annual Adult Spelling Bee held Oct. 19 was an overwhelming success, thanks to our incredible community! A fun evening featuring amazing costumes, enthusiastic teams, and very challenging-to-spell words combined to raise money to fund creative projects in our Northampton public schools! With the community’s help, NEF raised over $12,000 for our Small Grants program, which will fund educational experiences conceived and executed by teachers in our community. Past grants have been awarded to teach a wide variety of innovative programs, including a STEM initiative connecting high school and elementary students, a vibrant mural project at JFK and Northampton High School, and cycling classes with adaptive equipment for students with disabilities. We’d especially like to thank our sponsors, without whom this event would have been impossible. Event sponsors: D.A.
