Baseball: Northampton Post 28 stays hot with ninth straight win

Northampton Post 28 picked up its ninth straight win Monday night in a 4-2 victory over Wilbraham 286 Red at Arcanum Field on Monday.

Liam Pitrat picthed 4 and 2/3 inning with one strikeout. Patrick Serio came in for the save for the last 1 1/3 innings with no runs or hits with one strikeout.

Andy Gregorcewicz went 2-for-3 with a single, a triple, one RBI and one run scored. Dillon Diemand had two hits and an RBI, and Nick Heafey had a double and one run scored.

American Legion

Belchertown Post 239 6, Westfield Post 124 3 — Belchertown Post 239 stopped a three game slide in its win over Westfield Post 124.

Michael White threw 101 pitches and struck out six while tossing a complete game. Chase Kupinsky hit a single in the sixth inning that allowed two runners to score, putting Post 239 in the lead.

Sam White had two singles, and both Victor Camerota and JB Mills had two hits.

Greenfield Post 81 7, Agawam Post 185 6 — Greenfield Post 81 picked up their 10th win of the season on a balk in the bottom of the seventh.

Calen Evans had the biggest hit of the game for Post 81 with a two RBI single in the fourth to give his team the lead 5-3. Colin Cloutier was the only other player to have a hit for Post 81.

Mantle

Northampton 14, Westfield 8 — Jayden Darling allowed four runs and four hits on the mound for Northampton. Darling and Eric Vandergrift each had two hits. Seth Finnessy scored three runs. 

Pioneer Tech 10, Amherst 5 — Quentin Moliterno and Chris Mushenski both had a single and scored a run, while Evan Dooley hit a single in the loss for Amherst.

Little League Division 2

Westfield 5, Amherst 3 — Westfield eliminated Amherst from the Little League Division 2 10-12 tournament with two runs in the sixth inning. Alex West, Danny Bussard and Eli Kern had hits for Amherst.
