Colleges: Abby Baldwin scores OT winner in six-goal effort for Mount Holyoke lacrosse

Northampton graduate Abby Baldwin netted six goals, including an overtime winner, as the Mount Holyoke lacrosse team won 13-12 against Morrisville State on Thursday in Clearwater, Fla.

Deyscha Smith added three goals and an assist. Caroline Flynn had two goals, while Allie Brown and Julianna Rankin each had a goal and an assist for the Lyons (3-2).

Mia Wysocki stopped four shots, and Sophia Brooks-Randall had five saves and the win.

Smith 15, Fitchburg State 3 — Northampton’s Emily Biggs had a hat trick and an assist in Englewood, Fla.

Clelie Fielding scored five times for the Pioneers (5-0). Bella Ferraro added two goals and an assist. Alyssa Schams stopped two shots.

South Hadley grad Julia Miele had a goal and an assist for Fitchburg State. Fellow former Tiger Jillian Whalen caused a turnover.

Baseball

Amherst 6, Wisconsin-Stevens Point 5 — William Murphy singled to drive in Nick Nardone for a walkoff victory after Joseph Palmo launched a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth.

Stephen Burke and Daniel Qin (RBI) had two hits each for the Mammoths (4-1), as their spring break trip continued in Auburndale, Fla.

Softball

Wesleyan 7, Smith 3; Bowdoin 8, Smith 0 (5) — Katie Wingrove hit a two-run double and had four hits against Wesleyan. Rachel Newhall scored the third run on a wild pitch.

Eryn Lee had two hits for the Pioneers (3-5) against the Polar Bears in Clermont, Fla..

Women’s tennis

Emory 8, Amherst 1 — Maggie Owensby earned the Mammoths’ only point against the No. 1 team in the country at No. 5 singles. She beat Emma Cartledge 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 for Amherst (5-1) in Orlando, Fla.

Mount Holyoke 8, Northwestern (Minn.) 1 — The Lyons swept outside of No. 5 singles in Orlando, Fla.

Ching-Ching Huang (No. 2 singles) and Annissa Aamoum (No. 4 singles) both prevailed 6-1.

Men’s tennis

Washington (Mo.) 5, Amherst 4 — The Mammoths (5-1) won four of six singles matches but lost all three doubles points in Haines City, Fla.
