Monday’s high schools: Nick Roberts scores 100th goal for Granby boys lacrosse

In a 12-8 win over Monson on Monday, Nick Roberts scored his 100th career goal for the Granby boys lacrosse team.

He is the first player in three-year history of the program to accomplish the feat. Roberts had four goals in the home win for the Rams (8-8).

Sawyer Mahan led Granby with six goals, while Tre Demers chipped in with two goals and three assists.

Nick Albers made 17 saves in net for Granby.

Amherst 13, South Hadley 11 — Willy Wright scored six goals and added three assists in a home win.

Declan Gray-Mullen added three goals, while Jake Hibbard made 12 saves for Amherst (7-12, 1-6 Valley Wheel).

South Hadley (5-12, 1-7 Valley Wheel) lost its sixth game in a row.

Northampton 13, Agawam 8 — Evan Moulton led the Blue Devils with four goals and two assists in a road win that clinched the Valley League title.

Ian Shaw had three goals, while Matt Huggett, Kyle Luzzi-Dundon and Henry Attias all added two for Northampton (11-6, 7-1 Valley).

Bryce Wall stopped 12 shots in net.

Pittsfield 15, Belchertown 2 —Ben Magarian and Grant Irving scored for the Orioles in a road loss.

Adam Wordsworth added an assist for Belchertown (6-11).

Girls lacrosse

Granby 18, St. Mary 2 — Emily Whitacre scored nine goals to help the Rams clinch the Pioneer League title outright on the road.

Kate Sarnacki added five goals and seven assists for Granby (11-4, 9-1 Pioneer League).

Hailey O’Connor scored twice and dished out two assists.

Mya Fillion stopped six shots for Granby.

Northampton 10, Tantasqua 9 (2 OT) — Grace Goodwin-Boyd scored the game-winner for the Blue Devils on the road.

Goodwin-Boyd finished with three goals, while Megan McCarthy had four goals and an assist for Hamp (11-6).

Minnechaug 16, South Hadley 2 — Julia Miele dished out two assists in a road loss for the Tigers.

Briana Couture and Emma Slysz scored for South Hadley (3-15, 0-8 Valley Wheel), while Hanna Kopec made 10 saves.

Boys volleyball

Belchertown 3, Smith Vocational 0 — Anthony Hosmer fired 25 kills in a 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 win for the Orioles.

He closed out the season with 364 kills.

Drew Duquette dished out 32 assists for Belchertown (8-12).

Hosmer played his final game for the Orioles.

Wendell Padilla led Smith Vocational (2-9) with six kills and three aces and added seven digs.

Jake Wilson-Martineau put up 11 digs, seven assists and three blocks, while Tyler Top added 10 digs.
