Monday’s high schools: Amherst ends girls lacrosse postseason draught

Téa LaRaja scored four goals with three assists, and the Amherst Regional girls lacrosse team returned to the postseason for the first time since 2012 with a 20-4 win over Pope Francis, Monday.

Malia MacDonal added four goals and two assists, and Jane O’Connell had three goals and six draw controls.

Malina Kern also had a hat trick, while Nicole Gerena won four draw controls.

Charlotte Luddy (assist), Zora Dallman, Taya Anaya and Annick Sheridan found the net for the Hurricanes (9-5).

Cleo Hein stopped eight shots and grabbed four ground balls.

West Springfield 15, Granby 6 — Julia Frappier scored four goals for the Rams (2-11).

Rachel Netta added two assists.

Madison Sexton and Allie Bessette each found the net, and Liberty Conlin saved six shots.

Boys lacrosse

Granby 12, Central 4 — Ryan Walz scored six goals to outpace the Golden Eagles.

Luc Chauvin added four goals and an assist, while Mitch Labbee had a goal and four assists.

Logan Gray contributed two assists.

Nate Drapeau found the net, and Tanner Imelio, Corey Parlengas and Matt BaiRossi had assists for Granby (5-8, 5-3 Suburban).

Nate Loughman made seven saves.

Northampton 11, Pope Francis 3 — Hamp scored five unanswered goals in the second half to pull away at home.

Tyler Allcroft had five goals and an assist, and Evan Moulton had two goals and three assists in front of Ryan Heng (15 saves).

Agawam 7, Amherst Regional 6 — Willy Wright scored twice with an assist, while Dominic MacDonald had three assists for the Hurricanes (5-8, 4-2 Valley).

Ty Borrell added a goal and an assist. Dimitris Son, Luca LaRaja and Will Borrell all found the net.

Jonathan Cruz Rodriguez stopped 11 shots.

Minnechaug 15, South Hadley 3 — Marcus Larrier had two goals, and Shawn Mitchell added one for the Tigers (8-6, 3-4 Valley Wheel).

Liam Dawson, Ryan Levrault and Mike Senecal all added assists. Anthony Cigal made six saves.

Boys volleyball

Westfield 3, Belchertown 0 — Nathan Wright and Nathan Bresnahan each tallied four kills in a 25-8, 25-9, 25-7 loss. Connor LaFlamme added 11 assists for the Orioles (9-10).
