NORTHAMPTON — A man found bleeding from stab wounds Friday on the edge of downtown was taken to Baystate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Northampton police said.

Police reported on their Facebook page that they responded at about 1 p.m. to a report of a bleeding male victim walking in the area of 386 Pleasant St. His injuries, police reported, were “consistent with multiple knife wounds,” and they attempted to locate a suspect at that address, but the victim was not cooperative.

Police said the investigation was ongoing and there was no active threat to the community.
