Harbor Freight Tools to open in Hadley

HADLEY — Harbor Freight Tools will hold a grand opening of its new store in Hadley on Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Located at 303 Russell St., it is the 15th Harbor Freight Tools store in Massachusetts.

The 15,000-square-foot store will stock a full selection of tools and accessories in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, hand tools and more. Harbor Freight’s hand tools come with a lifetime warranty.

The new Harbor Freight Tools store will be open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Morrison an intern at Wealth Transition Collective

Cannabis operator Surterra buys Boston R&D firm

Surterra Wellness, a Georgia-based health and wellness company that recently bought the marijuana operations of New England Treatment Access in Northampton, has acquired Molecular Infusions, a Boston biotechnology research and development company that leverages innovative product delivery systems to improve the results of cannabis therapies.

Massachusetts immigrant entrepreneurs sought for honors

MALDEN — The Immigrant Learning Center Inc. seeks immigrant entrepreneurs to be honored at the 2019 Barry M. Portnoy Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards.

Nominations are being accepted now through Sept. 2 for outstanding immigrant business founders in four categories: business growth, neighborhood business, high-tech business and life science business. Self-nominations are encouraged.

These awards are a special opportunity for Massachusetts to showcase the entrepreneurial talent of immigrants who are drawn here. These entrepreneurs enhance Massachusetts’ neighborhoods, grow the economy and cement the commonwealth’s reputation as an innovation hub.

Winners will be chosen by a selection committee that reviews the nominations and selects one winner in each category.

Florence Bank wins Banking
Choice Awards

FLORENCE — Florence Bank accepted three of the four potential awards for banking excellence in western Massachusetts and took part in a panel discussion at the Bank Best Expo! at MGM Springfield on June 28.

As part of the 2019 Banking Choice Awards review by 278,359 independent consumers, the bank received two first-place awards, for customer service and overall quality, and a second-place honor for excellence in technology and tools.

Monica Curhan, the bank’s senior vice president/marketing director, also sat on a panel of bankers whose institutions consistently rank at the top in independent consumer surveys.

Boylston Rooms honored by Boston magazine

The Boylston Rooms of Easthampton was awarded with a best industrial location honor as part of Boston magazine’s “Best of Boston” wedding category.

For the past 12 months, the magazine’s editors have been exploring the city and its suburbs to bring its readers a “handy, keep-it-on-the-coffee-table-all-year-guide to the very best right now.” The winners were compiled in the latest issue.
