Amherst Coffee reveals new designAMHERST — Amherst Coffee, located at 28 Amity St. in the historic Amherst Cinema building, has completed its first major renovation since opening in 2005, expanding its physical space and daily offerings of the café and bar.
The new space includes a redesign of the shop’s interior that left room for more than 30 additional seats, and an expanded bar area with booths. Owner Mukunda Feldman describes the new aesthetic as simple, elegant and minimal.
Free Jazzercise classes, open houseAMHERST — Jazzercise Amherst Fitness Center, 460 West St., will hold an open house Sept. 9 during its 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. classes.
New owner Crista Klein planned the event to thank the community for making Jazzercise a success in Amherst, and to give the public an opportunity to see the intensity and effectiveness of the classes.
The open house will include information on the Jazzercise program, as well as a free workout.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes early and wear workout clothes and shoes. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided, and discount memberships available.

Free patent, trademark eventSOUTH HADLEY — The South Hadley Library and the South Hadley and Granby Chamber of Commerce are hosting a free business educational event for the business community and the public on Sept. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the South Hadley Main Library, 2 Canal St.
The speaker, Paulina Borrego, is a science and engineering librarian at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She became a librarian in 2007 and a patent and trademark resource center librarian in 2009.
Borrego is trained by the United States Patent & Trademark Office to educate patrons about patents and trademarks, the application process, and how to conduct an effective and thorough search. She works in the UMass Amherst Science & Engineering Library, which is open to the public.

Realtor receives EverGreen AwardNORTHAMPTON — Craig Della Penna of The Murphys Realtors has been selected to receive the 2017 EverGreen Award from the Green REsource Council of the National Association of Realtors.
Della Penna was selected by an independent panel of green industry professionals based on his commitment to developing energy efficient homes and neighborhoods in which biking and walking are commonplace.
Della Penna specializes in the sale of houses near rail trails and greenways. He has delivered over 1,200 lectures in 21 states on the topics of energy efficiency and the importance of greenways.
Easthampton welcomes Women Business Owners AllianceEASTHAMPTON — The Women Business Owners Alliance will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in its new Easthampton home at the Keystone Mill on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m.
The grand opening is one of several events to celebrate the organization’s 35th anniversary and its move to a permanent location in the Valley.

Real estate licensing courseSPRINGFIELD — Beginning Sept. 6, the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley will sponsor a 40-hour, 14-class, sales licensing course to help individuals prepare for the Massachusetts real estate license exam. The course will be completed on Oct. 12.
The tuition is $359 and includes the book and materials. Classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at 221 Industry Ave. in Springfield.

Florence Bank promotes Lemoi FLORENCE — Kristen Lemoi of Southampton has been promoted to the position of vice president and marketing manager at Florence Bank.
Lemoi joined Florence Bank in June 2011. Prior to her recent promotion she served as the assistant vice president, digital and merchandising manager and played an integral part in the 2014 launch of the bank’s new brand. In her new role, Lemoi will help steer strategic marketing decisions.
Lemoi received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She is currently on the board of the Cancer Connection, and is a certified financial marketing professional.
