Nina Kleinberg: Grateful to police, good samaritan for returning lost purse

Wednesday, Feb. 8, was such a beautiful day that I decided to go for a bike ride. After 10 miles, I got home to discover that my purse, holding my car keys, driver’s license, credit cards, etc., had fallen off my bike. But where? I remembered that I had a tile tracking device on my car keys. It told me that my purse was located first in Leeds and then at Firestone Auto Care on King Street in Northampton. I biked down there, (not having my car keys to drive,) only to discover that no one knew anything about my purse. I called the police station, and they sent an officer to help me. They said a young man had found my purse, but first he had to take his car in for repairs. He had just dropped the purse off at the police station. They confirmed my identity, and then another policeman actually brought the purse to the Firestone Building, since I was still on my bike. So, a hearty “thank you” to the Northampton Police, and another “thank you” to the person who delivered my purse, contents intact, to the police station. He didn’t leave his name, but I will never forget his kindness.
