I watched the “Back to the Future” movies with my son many times because he really liked them. For those unfamiliar with the trilogy, “Doc” Brown has made a DeLorean car into a time machine.

In “Back to the Future II,” we go to a future America where everything has gone wrong. Biff, a local loser in the first movie, has become not just a rich casino magnate, but his corruption seems to have infected everything. Our hero, Marty McFly, must undo a glitch caused by Biff himself, whose older self has stolen a ride in the DeLorean to take a sports almanac to his younger self, giving him the ultimate betting tip-sheet.

Marty goes ahead to this alternate future and finds old Biff presiding over a colorless, unhappy country where everyone is afraid of everybody and expecting only the worst. No one laughs, joy is absent.

It’s hard to find a DeLorean these days and really hard to find one capable of time travel. We don’t have a chance to fix glitches. So, let’s try to get it right the first time. Vote for Kamala Harris. Anything else is a vote for Bifftopia.
