I don’t know how often an individual can submit an opinion on any one topic. The recently published article on the state’s new gun law disturbs me, and others. This state recently passed a bill that is most egregious and Draconian in content. Massachusetts already has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. I haven’t read the entire contents of the bill. This bill targets those of us who are law-abiding citizens. No mention is made about those individuals who don’t follow the law and the courts often provide bails that are ridiculous and incarceration is a joke. These are multiple offenders. I believe this law did not invite public input. This was all done in closed sessions in which the public was not allowed. I believe this bill is less about public safety and more about politics and individuals personal gains.
