The children of Frances Crowe: Proceeds from Crowe’s estate sale go to charity

Published: 10/8/2019 9:00:12 PM

We recently held a fundraising estate sale at the home of our mother, Frances Crowe, who passed away six weeks ago at the age of 100.

Hundreds of Northampton citizens participated in this sale. People who work in the vintage and antique business helped us price items and bought items themselves. Especially noteworthy were the people who found a good home for each and every one of Frances’ approximately 50 boxes of books collected over the past 75 years. Many Northampton citizens passed through Frances’ home during the days of the estate sale. They bought items as remembrances and told stories about their experiences with Frances.

We raised $2,434.02 which we will divide between two organizations — Cooley Dickenson Hospice that made such a difference in our mother’s last week of life and Democracy Now!, a media organization that spreads the truth about what’s happening in the news.

Thank you, Northampton. No wonder our mother chose to spend nearly 70 years living in this generous and caring little town.
