It is long past due for a well qualified woman to be elected to the board of trustees of Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School.

Julie Spencer-Robinson, the parent of two children who attended Smith Vocational, has served as president of the Northampton Teachers Union and is dedicated to public education. Spencer-Robinson taught at Northampton’s JFK Middle School for 25 years, and was recently appointed to serve on the statewide Vocational Technical Education Advisory Council.

Spencer-Robinson understands the particularly complex challenges of governance at Smith Voc and will represent all the communities it serves equitably.

An active parent, Julie Spencer-Robinson was involved with the PTO, and supports the vision and dedication of the current Smith Voc administration. Spencer-Robinson is committed to the recruiting of, and hiring, staff members of color. I have known Julie Spencer-Robinson since we served together on the Board of Casa Latina in the 1980s. Please join me. Vote for Julie Spencer-Robinson, trustee for Smith Vocational School. Our community will be well served by electing her.
