The flag has always been displayed in the proper direction, like the flag is looking at you, blue field to the flag’s right. It does not need to be illuminated 24/7, it needs to be lit up at night. I am sure with all the street lights on Cottage Street near the pond the one could put a good light sensor spotlight on one of them to shine on the flag at night.

I have missed seeing it every time I go through Easthampton. As a retired Army first sergeant, it was my responsibility to train the troops on the proper display of the colors. Lets get it out of committee and all this discussion, and get it done by the Fourth of July! It is the 250th anniversary of this great country! It doesn’t matter who the president is, the opening line of the Constitution says “We the People.” The people have spoken, let’s get it done!
