While we continue to have concerns regarding the financial ramifications of the Jones Library renovation/expansion/demolition project, we are deeply troubled by any attempt to prevent the award of federal grants to the library trustees following the majority vote of the Amherst Town Council to move forward with the project.

Endeavoring to interfere with the grants by appealing to the worst impulses of the Trump administration is an affront to our entire community.
