I was very pleased to see Laurie Loisel throw her hat in the ring and announce her candidacy for Ward 3 city councilor. I appreciate the experience, knowledge and energy she will bring to that role.

We need everyone pulling together to make Northampton the best it can be. That doesn’t mean we can’t disagree. It does mean that when we disagree, we need to still be on the same team.

The city has many projects coming up that have been years in the making. They are the result of thoughtful planning, citizen engagement and good governance. I want to see everyone in Northampton succeed. I want my city officials to work together toward that goal. Laurie Loisel will be a welcome addition to the City Council.

I live in Ward 2 where we have seen many changes over the years. We have benefited from having city councilors who have been open and available to hear from all their constituents. Every ward deserves a councilor who respects different perspectives, listens to concerns and ultimately casts a vote when the matter is before the City Council.

Laurie Loisel will be that kind of councilor. I would vote for her if I could. If you can, please do.
