NORTHAMPTON — A man who lists his address as the streets of Northampton on Tuesday denied assault charges.

Eric E. Matlock, 33, pleaded not guilty in Hampshire Superior Court to two counts of assault and battery and a count of malicious destruction of property over $250. A grand jury handed up the indictments last month.

The charges were not previously brought in district court and few details about the allegations have been released. The charges resulted from a Dec. 19 incident in which Matlock allegedly assaulted two people and caused more than $250 worth of a damage to something they owned.

The next court appearance for Matlock, who is represented by attorney Dana Goldblatt, is scheduled for April 24.
