HOLYOKE — Police are asking the public to help find a 18-year-old city resident who has been missing for nearly a month.

On Wednesday, the Holyoke Police Department issued a call for help in locating Nathaniel Otero, who was last seen on the morning of July 8.

Otero’s family described him as 6 feet tall, 275 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a tan skin complexion. They said he wears prescription glasses and has a scar on his lower-right abdomen.

Otero was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a plain blue T-shirt and Crocs.

In a statement, Holyoke police said they searched the area around Scott Tower for Otero on July 9 together with the Holyoke Fire Department and the Easthampton Police Department. They were unsuccessful.

“Anyone that has information is encouraged to contact the Holyoke Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau at (413) 322-6900,” the police said in a statement.

Those with information can also use the city’s anonymous “Text-a-Tip” message system.
