High schools: Fugiel, Easthampton skate past Ludlow

Garren Fugiel scored three goals and added one assist as the Easthampton hockey team beat Ludlow, 6-4, at the Olympia Ice Center, Saturday.

Matt Sullivan, Liam Reynolds and Tyler Galpin (assist) each scored once. Tyler Darling had two assists, while Jake Delisle and Pete Sullivan each had one helper. Jayden Darling made 13 saves.

Amherst Regional 3, Wahconah 1 — Taylor Hanson, Kouji Ishida and Chris Foster each scored as the Hurricanes (8-2-0) won at Orr Rink, Saturday.

Carter Beckwith had two assists, while Foster and Gunyoung Choi had one each. John Hanscom made 27 saves.

Greenfield 2, Assabet Valley 0 — Riley Drew stopped 24 shots for the Green Wave (6-1-0), Saturday in Marlboro.

Defenseman Jacob Bryant wristed a shot from the blue line with 23 seconds left in the first period to give the Wave a 1-0 lead. Bryan Baumann and Sean O’Sullivan assisted for Greenfield.

Bryan Baumann scored a power-play goal in the third period, assisted by O’Sullivan and Aidan Roche.

Oakmont 3, Belchertown 0 — Jake Delaney made 21 saves for the Orioles (4-2-2), who trailed 1-0 entering the third period on Saturday.

Oakmont scored a power-play goal, its second of the game, with seven minutes left, then added an empty-netter at the Mullins Center Practice Rink.

Boys basketball

Sci-Tech 53, Amherst Regional 39 — Evan Stewart had 12 points and Tabor Bowman 10, but the Hurricanes (2-5) fell at home on Saturday.

McCann Tech 67, Smith Vocational 44 — Carlos Rivera had 14 points but the Vikings (3-3) fell at home, Friday.

Girls basketball

Chicopee 81, Hampshire Regional 61 — Maddie Pond (10 steals) had 18 points and Jackie Babyak added nine, but the Raiders (5-3) fell on the road, Saturday.

Gateway Regional 28, Sci-Tech 21 — Donna Viel had nine points, while Peyton Bucko and Grace Van Buren each had eight for the Gators (2-4), Friday.

Nordic skiing

Berkshire Ski League — Unseasonable conditions made the second race difficult at Notchview on Saturday.

Amherst Regional placed fifth out of six teams in the boys race. In the girls race, the Hurricanes were sixth. Mohawk Trail Regional, which is a cooperative program with Hampshire Regional, was third.

Mount Greylock swept both races.

Nor Young missed the top 10 in the boys race by one second, finishing 11th in 18:21 for Amherst.

Henry Geffert (27th, 20:49) and Jesse Barker-Plotkin (28th, 20:57) cracked the top 30 for Amherst.

West Williams, of Hampshire Regional, was 46th in 27:44 for Mohawk.

Anna Burns (35th, 25:48) and Zora Dallman (37th, 26:41) were the top two skiers for Amherst in the girls race.

Katarzyna Wisnauckas, of Hampshire Regional, was 14th in 21:31 for Mohawk. Hampshire students Ellie Meunier (36th, 26:00) and Sylvie Mahon-Moore (39th, 27:45) competed for Mohawk.
