High schools: Frontier field hockey blanks Westfield, 7-0

Olivia Vecellio had three goals and Lily Spencer (assist) added two as the Frontier Regional field hockey team cruised past Westfield, 7-0, Tuesday on the road.

Alison Barnes and Emily DeMaio (assist) finished with a goal apiece. Maeve Huit and Grace Wesoloski each had an assist for Frontier (2-0, 2-0 Valley North).

Skyla Burniske finished with four saves in the shutout.

Belchertown 1, Pioneer Regional 0 — Ashley Messier scored as the Orioles won on the road.

Amherst 2, Franklin Tech 1 — Sora Green and Natalie Alvardo-Mendoza scored as the Hurricanes won at home.

Girls soccer

South Hadley 7, Sabis 0 — The Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead en route to the blowout a home.

Teagan Gawron (assist) and Lindsay Marjanski each scored twice, while Alex Blaney (assist), Kaylin Cousineau and Reese Carey each had one tally.

Anna Evans, Olivia Blaney, Sydney Mercier and Bailey Gawron all had one assist.

Bridget Sears had four saves in the shutout.

Mahar 1, Gateway Regional 0 — Becca Herman made three saves, and Erin Harris had a couple opportunities but couldn’t finish as the Gators (2-1) fell on the road in Orange.

Frontier 2, Easthampton 0 — Cambrie Hamilton scored off an assist from Alena Maes-Polan in the first half, and Natalie Denkiewicz scored from Kaitlyn Mackin in the second half as the Red Hawks won at Nonotuck Park.

Frontier keeper Siomara Green had four saves.

Granby 2, Hampshire 0 — Senior Nora Young scored both goals with one assist from Julia Frappier as the Rams won at home.

Granby keeper Julia Gauvin had nine saves. Hampshire Regional keeper Olivia Strojny had 13 saves.

Longmeadow 2, Northhampton 1 — Mary Greene scored from Peyton Pettiford-Rowan to tie the game, but the Lancers pulled out the win at home.

Sydney Lewandowski made eight saves for Hamp.

Boys soccer

Amherst Regional 1, Woodstock Academy 0 — Soul-Jah Ferreira got on the board off an assist from Brayan Rivas Martinez 90 seconds into the game and the goal stood as the Hurricanes won at home.

Goaltender Matt Essig finished with six saves in the shutout.

Westfield 2, Northampton 0 — Jarrett Borer had 12 saves but the Blue Devils fell at home.

Girls volleyball

Chicopee 3, Easthampton 2 — The Eagles led 2-1, but the Pacers rallied for the 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 16-11 win.

Autumn Pinard had three kills, 21 assists, seven aces and nine digs, while Michele McDermott had 15 kills, two aces and two blocks.

Skylar Raskevitz added three aces and 18 digs.
