The Frontier Regional boys basketball team turned a slight first-quarter deficit into a rout, Thursday in Hatfield.

The Red Hawks beat Smith Academy, 72-33, after trailing 13-12 after the first quarter.

Owen Morse finished with a game-high 24 points, while Alex Sharp added 14 points for Frontier (7-1, 3-0 Hampshire North).

Brett Gratz led Smith Academy (3-6, 1-2) with 14 points on four 3-pointers.

Mahar 63, Hopkins Academy 59 — Caleb Graves dropped in 19 points, but it was not enough to lift the Golden Hawks in Orange. Andrew Ciaglo chipped in 13 points for Hopkins (5-5).

Amherst Regional 60, Agawam 54 — Charles Woodfine-Holmes had 16 points to lead the Hurricanes to their second win of the season at home. Evan Perry scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Amherst (2-7).

Baystate Academy 94, Gateway 15 — Evan Cortis had five points, and Dylan Lafreniere added four for the Gators (0-8) at home.

Easthampton 66, Ludlow 38 — Sam Colenback led four scorers in double figures with 15 points in the Eagles’ home rout of the Lions.

Jack Bacis added 14 points, Sean Sabourtin scored 12 and Gabe Colenback chipped in 11 for the Eagles (7-1), who pulled away with a strong defensive effort in the second quarter.

Easthampton held Ludlow to just two points in the second stanza to run its lead to 23 points at halftime.

South Hadley 61, Hampshire Regional 45 — Hunter Borowski scored 18 points and led the charge defensively, as the Tigers (2-9, 2-1 Bi-County East) won at home.

Hunter Carey had 14 points, while Dylan Cottingham added 12.

Greg Sarna-McCarthy led the Raiders (2-7, 1-2) with eight points, while Dominik Lewinski chipped in seven.

Turners Falls 64, Belchertown 54 — Jordan Lanoue scored 17 points, and Corey Lanoue had 15, but the Orioles fell on the road. James Lawless added 12 points for Belchertown (2-8).

Longmeadow 55, Northampton 47 — The Blue Devils led 9-5 after the first quarter and 21-19 at halftime, but the Lancers (6-3) made the plays down to the stretch to escape Northampton with the win.

The Blue Devils (5-4) made it a two possession game with 1 minute left, but Colin Lockhart made some free throws and had a couple steals late for Longmeadow. Lockhart scored 10 of his game-high 18 in the fourth.

Anthony Dejesus scored eight of his team-high 16 points in the first half to pace Northampton. Jaeden Johndrow added 12 in defeat.

Franklin Tech 67, Smith Vocational 52 — Freshman Colin Earle scored a career-high 20 points on four 3-pointers, but the Vikings (3-5) fell at home.

Jayvon Cordova had eight points, and Tyler Top and Andrew Pierce scored six each.

Hockey

Greenfield 3, Chicopee Comp 1 — Jacob Bryant scored two goals, and the Green Wave won on the road.

Doug Hanieski also found the net, while Kevin Baumann, Bryan Baumann and Kyle Barnes had assists.

Riley Drew made 17 saves for Greenfield (6-0-2).
