Hannah Fox leads Amherst past Trinity

Hannah Fox scored 23 points with 13 rebounds, four steals and three assists, playing the full 40 minutes as the Amherst College women’s basketball team beat Trinity, 58-53, on the road Friday.

The Mammoths (20-3,7-2 NESCAC) withstood a 22-point fourth quarter from the Bantams and were outscored by 11 in the final frame, but they held on for their fourth win in a row.

Madeline Eck had 15 points, and Dani Valdez scored 10. Amherst’s starters scored all 58 of its points.

The Mammoths held Trinity to 33.3 percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers.
