After a bevy of UMass women’s basketball players entered the transfer portal, the Minutewomen have started to refill their ranks.

Jermany Mapp announced on her social media accounts that she will be joining the Flagship next season. Mapp spent the last three seasons with Hampton University.

In the 2022-23 season, the guard averaged 7.4 points per game and 3.4 rebounds while averaging 30.2 minutes per game with the Lady Pirates.

Mapp’s arrival to the school marks the first player that new UMass coach Mike Leflar has brought to the school under his tenure. While it’s not yet known how she’ll fit into a still-to-be-determined roster, Mapp’s spent a lot of minutes on the court over her last two seasons and could fill some of the holes left by Sydney Taylor, Ber’Nyah Mayo and Destiney Philoxy in the UMass back court.
