Aldenville put up five runs in the frame and chased Northampton starter Griffin Smiarowski out of the game, but Garretson forced a Post 337 player to ground out to third – where Smiarowski was playing after pitching six-plus innings. He made the play to end the game and strand three Aldenville runners on.
Northampton led 7-1 after six innings before Aldenville's comeback.
Smiarowski had three hits, scored a run and drove in one, Andrew Gagne notched two singles and crossed home twice and Matthew Walko recorded two hits, an RBI and a run. That trio paced Post 28’s offense to help grab their 10th win of the year.
