NORTHAMPTON — The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office is collecting supplies for Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
The sheriff was contacted by the Florida Sheriff’s Association requesting assistance. No monetary donations will be accepted, but a large number of items are in need including cases of water, packages of new T-shirts, formula and diapers, toiletries, first aid supplies, gift cards, pet cages and nonperishable food for both pets and people.
Supplies will be accepted at the jail, 205 Rocky Hill Road in Northampton, daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Oct. 5.
On Thursday, items will be collected at the Belchertown Stop & Shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. On Oct. 4, items will be collected at the Wal-Mart in Northampton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
