The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hampshire County rose to 46 on Monday, up from 37 the previous day, according to data released by the state Department of Public Health. The number of confirmed cases stood at 255 in Hampden County and 49 in Franklin County, according to DPH.

Statewide, there were 797 new cases for a total of 5,752 and nearly 43,000 people have been tested, up from 39,066. Eight new deaths were reported by DPH on Monday, bringing the total to 56 deaths in Massachusetts.

As of Monday, Baystate Health had tested 1,372 individuals, of which 974 have come back negative, 258 positive and 140 are still pending results.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital on Monday reported that it has tested 51 positive COVID-19 cases and has 59 cases of people under investigation (someone who has symptoms of coronavirus and has been tested but is awaiting results). The hospital has 12 confirmed COVID-19 inpatients, including six in its intensive care unit.
