HS lacrosse: Belchertown boys clinch Suburban League title

Owen Sedlacek had three goals while Koy Monette finished with two goals and three assists as the Belchertown boys lacrosse team upended St. Mary’s, 14-2, and clinched the Suburban League championship, Thursday at home.

Ben Laliberte added two goals. Ryan Sullivan-Daley (assist), Griffin Weiss (assist), Matt Talbot, Justin Pendrick, Sam Winston, Shea Cunningham and Dan Chrzanowski each scored one goal.

Zack Wrona had an assist and Matt Pacheco made 13 saves for the Orioles (12-4, 12-0).

Aaron Blanchard (assist) and Evan Ploof scored for the Saints (5-12). Colin Ramos made 24 saves.

South Hadley 16, Amherst Regional 11 — Tyler Borrell scored four goals for the Hurricanes (4-12) while Dimitris Son chipped in a hat trick in the loss to the Tigers (8-9). Pierre Tilus scored twice and dished out two assists as well and Liam Johnson stopped 11 shots in the cage.

Information on South Hadley was not available Thursday night.

East Longmeadow 13, Northampton 6 — Ben Gomes-Rapoza had four points (two goals and two assists) in the Blue Devils’ loss. Jay Mahoney had two goals and an assist and Connor Tobin had one goal and one helper as well for Northampton (6-10).

Girls lacrosse

Pope Francis 20, St. Mary 6 — Riley Panniello and Paighton Ramos (assist) each scored twice as the Saints (1-18, 0-10 Pioneer) closed their season in Westfield.

Maura Joseph and Katarzyna Wisnaukas each scored once, while Natalie Lussier had one assist. Chloe Gawle made eight saves.

It was the last game for senior defender Vicky Gargan, who was honored before the first faceoff.

Belchertown 13, Lee 12 (OT) — According to iberkshires.com, Elise Pikul scored in the first minute of overtime to give the Orioles (12-3) the road win. Pikul finished with four goals.

West Springfield 13, Granby 4 — Madison Sexton scored twice, while Gabby Walz and Nora Bernasge each had one for the Rams (12-6, 4-4 Valley League) on Wednesday.

Julia Frappier had one assist and Liberty Conlin made 10 saves.
