GRANBY — The Select Board will interview four finalists for the town administrator position on Tuesday afternoon with hopes of filling a vacancy as soon as possible.

The finalists each have varied municipal and administrative experience. They include Scott Butcher, a previous town administrator of Brookline, New Hampshire; Michael Szlosek, the town moderator of Ludlow and town administrator of North Brookfield; Granby resident Michael Durham, a budget analyst for the United State Department of Veterans Affairs; and Shelley Poreda, director of business administration for Frontier Regional School District.

“We interviewed several well-qualified candidates and we’re pleased to present four people to the Select Board. They have different strengths, but each has the skills and experience to serve the town well,” wrote Mark Bail, chair of the Town Administrator Search Committee.

Bail provided the names and current jobs of the finalists, but did not have any other information about their backgrounds available.

Interviews begin Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Granby Senior Center, and the Select Board is expected to make a decision on Thursday.

During the Dec. 16 Select Board Meeting, Bail told the board that the committee reviewed 16 resumes, chose six candidates and landed on four finalists. The new town administrator will fill the vacancy left by Christopher Martin, who retired from the full-time job at the end of October.

Martin has served on an interim basis while the search committee reviewed applications, and will train the new town administrator for the next three weeks.
