GRANBY — With the deadline to pull election papers set for Wednesday, contests are shaping up for a handful of municipal positions on the Select Board, Board of Health, Town Clerk and School Committee.

With Select Board member Crystal Dufresne not seeking reelection, two candidates are expressing interest. They include former Select Board member Mark Bail and Jeremy Jachym, who has yet to return his papers.

Katherine Kelly-Regan will not seek reelection as town clerk, with an estimated retirement date of May 27. Emily Reed and Virginia Hajdamowicz have pulled and returned papers to fill the position.

There are three vacancies on the School Committee, two of which are unexpired terms. While no one has pulled papers to fill the one-year and two-year unexpired terms, Elizabeth Lafond and Timothy Carl Abbott have pulled papers to run for the final open seat.

Incumbent Bill Shaheen pulled papers to maintain his seat on the Board of Health, but Timothy Carl Abbott and Daniel Gerstenfield have also pulled papers for the race. None of the candidates have returned their papers to the town clerk.

Ronald Lee Harrop also took out papers to defend his seat as commissioner of Burial Grounds, and his potential opponent Glenn E. Durham has pulled papers, but has yet to return them.

Four people have pulled papers for the three open positions on the Board of Library Trustees: incumbents Helen Hurteau and Candace Ribeiro and newcomers Rosemarie Rosen and Melissa Lynn Harter. So far, only Hurteau and Rosen have returned papers. A seat for a one-year unexpired term on the board remains uncontested, as no one has pulled papers yet.

The only non-contested race is for the Planning Board. Trevor Augustino pulled papers to fill the vacancy, but has not returned them.
