NORTHAMPTON — Prospective students of Greenfield Community College and their families can learn what the college has to offer during two “Quick Admit” events this summer.
The first event will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Greenfield Savings Bank conference room at the 325 King St. branch in Northampton. An additional event will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, during the same time and at the same location.
According to a GCC press release, Quick Admit events give attendees the opportunity to learn about GCC’s numerous offerings, including new opportunities in the medical assistant certificate program in Northampton, a new certificate program in music recording and production, and a new associate’s degree in adventure education. They can also learn about the numerous liberal arts degrees that allow students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Students will have an opportunity to complete the online admission application and financial aid form at the event. Admission and financial aid staff will be available to answer questions regarding program offerings, the application process and financial aid.
Both events will offer focused information sessions about the medical assistant certificate program, which now has a Saturday option in Northampton, the press release states. Students can complete the certificate in as little as nine months by meeting every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. from Sept. 14 to May 16 of next year.
In addition to the Northampton program, GCC runs a section of the medical assistant certificate program in Greenfield that offers flexibility with a hybrid option of online and face-to-face class meetings. Whichever option students choose, the program involves 160 hours or more in a clinical experience practicum, readying students to enter the workforce upon completion.
