Ben Martino, Ben Zoly and Alec Kirkendall each had two hits, lifting the Frontier Mickey Mantle baseball team to a 10-8 victory over Pioneer on Thursday in Turners Falls.

Martino and Zoly each drove in a run, while Frontier also received offensive contributions from Gehrig Brynda (single, RBI), Ben Zaranek (single, two RBIs), Tom Alber (single, RBI), Aidan Falla (single, RBI), Kevin Baumann (two RBIs) and Maxwell Edwards (RBI).

Brynda was the winning pitcher, while Edwards was credited with the save.

Northampton 11, South Hadley 2 — Northampton’s Seth Finnessey drove in four runs on two hits in a home win.

Eddie Sarafin had two hits including a triple, scored a run and added an RBI.

Jayden Darling (two runs) drove in two runs.

Will Shaw (two runs, RBI), Jake Matakanski and Cyril Rees Burton (run) each singled twice.

Matt Sullivan drove in a run and scored once for Northampton (11-4).

Anthony Azarro doubled and had an RBI and a run. Nick Mochak singled and scored.

Max Callan picked up the win in relief, throwing four innings of two-hit ball with five strikeouts and a walk.

South Hadley’s Grady Provost doubled and scored a run. Earle Keegan singled twice, and John Sherwood touched home once for South Hadley (0-14).

American Legion

Northampton Post 28 7, Pittsfield Post 160 5 — Six runs in the sixth inning pushed Post 28’s winning streak to 11 games. Northampton benefited from four errors and several walks in the inning, only collecting three hits. Noah Brink launched a two-un double, while Patrick Serio and Jackson Heath both singled.

Matt Bouley picked up the win in relief, while Mike Baldwin had a save.

Jack Diggins added a hit and two RBIs.

Nick Hafey (two runs), Jackson Heath (run, RBI) and Dillon Diemand (run) singled for Northampton (11-4).

It ended a six-game winning streak for Pittsfield.

Northampton has one game remaining in the regular season at 7 p.m. Saturday at Greenfield Post 81. Both teams will make the playoffs win or lose, but that game will determine seeding. The top two teams in each of the three zones in Western Massachusetts make the playoffs along with two wild cards. Whoever wins will be one of the top two teams in Zone 1/2, while the loser will be a wild card.

Greenfield Post 81 6, Belchertown Post 239 2 — Ben Arnold tossed a complete game for Post 81, striking out six.

Greenfield (11-4) led 2-0 in the second inning before Belchertown (6-9) tied it in the bottom of the sixth.

Bryan Baumann had two hits in the win, while Colin Cloutier (hit, RBI).

Belchertown’s Jacob Torna tied the game in the sixth when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 2-2. Greenfield chose to intentionally walk J.B. Mills with first base open in front of Torna, and Arnold drilled him with an 0-2 pitch that forced in the tying run. Torna drove in both runs for Post 239 (6-9), while Mills added a hit.

Sandy Koufax

Hatfield 7, Dalton 4 — Logan Graves and Griffin Smiarowski had RBI singles in a home win. Smiarwoski also threw a complete game with seven strikeouts. Shane Pruzak and Leo Forrest also singled for Hatfield (9-8).

14U Suburban Softball

Southampton 11, Westfield 1 (5) — Jocelyn Mettey struck out eight and allowed just three hits in a win, adding two hits and two RBIs. Abby McClaflin (two RBIs) and Emma Czarnieki (RBI) each had two hits for Southampton (3-0).

McKenzie McCarthy drove in two runs and had a hit.

Greenfield 11, Easthampton 5 — Easthampton never recovered after surrendering six runs in the first inning and four in the second to fall to 1-3 on the season.

12U Suburban Softball

Greenfield 8, Frontier Red 3 — Ashley Taylor had two hits in a loss and scored a run.

Mel Ring, Claire Kirkendall (triple, run) each had a hit with an RBI.

Olivia Machon added two hits and scored a run.

Maggie Potter singled.
