Friday’s colleges: UMass field hockey rallies to beat VCU

Four players scored as the UMass field hockey team beat VCU, 4-2, Friday at Gladchuk Field.

Lucy Cooper tied the game at 1-1 and Anne Dijkstra tied the game at 2-2 for the Minutewomen.

Georgie McTear and Nicole Kuerzi scored the winning and insurance goals, respectively.

Mirra Stillman had two assists, while Cooper and Kuerzi each had one.

Camille Lecrone made four saves for her first collegiate win for UMass (9-4, 4-1 Atlantic 10).

Women’s soccer

MIT 6, Mount Holyoke 0 — Amanda Manaster made 20 saves for the visiting Lyons (2-9-1, 0-5-0 NEWMAC).

Women’s volleyball

Tufts 3, Amherst 2 — Daria Kim-Percy had 15 kills and Emily Kolsky added 14 but the Mammoths (11-5, 2-3 NESCAC) fell 15-25, 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 15-8 at home.

Charlotte Duran had 45 assists and Hayes Honea finished with 21 digs.
