Florence man accused of trafficking heroin/fentanyl

HOLYOKE — A Florence man allegedly in possession of about 150 half packages of fentanyl was arrested by Massachusetts State Police on Interstate 91 in Holyoke early on the afternoon of March 24.

Jose Rosado, 34, was taken into custody on a charge of trafficking between 100 and 200 grams of heroin/ fentanyl, according to a State Police statement issued Friday.

Members of the State Police drug task force and partner agencies seized the drugs and booked Rosado at the State Police barracks in Northampton.

The arrest was made by the western Massachusetts squad of the State Police Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction and Enforcement Team along with the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration Springfield Office, the Northwestern District Anti-Crime Task Force and the State Police Detective Unit for Hampden County. and the Hampden County District Attorneys’ Detective Unit.
