HOLYOKE — Police say that five people were shot outside a bar in the South Street Plaza early on Saturday.

In a statement, Holyoke Police Department Capt. Michael Moriarty said that officers responded to 209 South St. at around 2:10 a.m. for a report of shots fired with multiple victims. When police arrived, he said they found two victims outside of the Clubhouse bar and provided first aid.

Moriarty said that once the shooting victims were transported to the hospital, police secured the area.

“While still on scene, officers were advised by dispatch that three additional shooting victims were at the Holyoke Medical Center Emergency Room,” Moriarty added.

Police provided no other information about the victims or the shootings, saying only that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
