AMHERST — Crocker Farm School Principal Derek Shea and his staff welcomed students back to the first day of classes at the Amherst elementary on Wednesday. Amherst schools, as well as those in Northampton, Hadley and Belchertown, saw their first day of the new school year on Wednesday. Hatfield, South Hadley and the elementary schools of the Hampshire Regional district open Thursday while Easthampton and Granby will start the day after Labor Day.
