NORTHAMPTON – A large fight outside of Local Burger in the early morning hours of Sunday resulted in five arrests, the Northampton Police Department reported in a Facebook post.

Police said that at 2:21 a.m. a pair of officers observed a crowd of people spilling from the restaurant onto Main Street and Strong Avenue.

The officers requested assistance, and all available officers responded. Police said that 10 to 15 people were actively fighting while 30 to 50 were shouting and chanting along the sidewalk and in the street. The Easthampton Police Department and Massachusetts State Police also responded to the fight, police said.

Officers worked to separate the people who were actively fighting, police said, although they continued to taunt and provoke each other and others tried to attack other civilians, despite their friends trying to hold them back.

There were no injuries, police said, and five people were arrested after the fight was under control.

Luke Bissell, 23, of Greenfield, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and possession of a class B substance, suspected to be cocaine. Nelson Bones Jr., 27, of Northampton, was charged with disorderly conduct, subsequent offense. Jordan Markham, 28, of Worcester, was charged with disorderly conduct, as was Lew Borden Jr., 24, of Worcester, and William Vazquez, 25, of Northampton.
