Easthampton boys suburban win 7/8 championship

The Easthampton boys grade 7-8 suburban basketball team won the Division 2 championship for the second year in a row earlier this month.

The Eagles defeated Pioneer, 72-46, in the final. Easthampton went 16-1 this season and has compiled a 33-2 record over the past two years.

The Eagles ended the year on a 10-game winning streak and averaged 62 points per game. The team’s eighth graders were Colin Larson, Calvin Klumpp, Hudson Fulcher-Melendy, Chase Cummings, GG DeNucce-Simms and Noah Murray. The seventh graders were Jackson Mettey, Anais Isaza-Malloy, Trevor Canon-Smith, Brayden English, Jasper Alvarez and Matt Counter.

The team was co-coached by Jen Fulcher and Christian Mettey.
