EASTHAMPTON — A new pop-up experience is coming to the greater Easthampton area. Dry Humor, a non-alcoholic pop-up shop, will be making some of its first appearances at several upcoming community events.

The LGBTQ women-owned business aims to give individuals the opportunity to explore alcohol alternatives and learn about the benefits of sobriety. They offer an assortment of beverages, including craft non-alcoholic beers, alcohol-removed wines and artisan mocktails that all contain less than 0.5% ABV.

“We’re on a mission to redefine the drinking experience,” said Elizabeth “CJ” Mutti, the owner and founder of Dry Humor.

The shop is still working to secure a permanent brick-and-mortar location, but plans to celebrate its debut with tastings, educational sessions and appearances at local fairs, festivals and markets. Residents of Easthampton also can order from Dry Humor’s selection online and receive free delivery. They plan to expand this delivery service beyond Easthampton in the future.

The pop-up will be in attendance at several upcoming community events, beginning with the NEPM Asparagus Festival in Hadley on June 1. Dry Humor will appear on the Hadley Town Common from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature free samples of IMPROV booze alcohol-free cocktails.

Dry Humor also will appear at the Sunday Block Party and Pride Market in Northampton on June 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as the Easthampton Farmers’ Market on June 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Our focus is not just on providing awesome [non-alcoholic] drinks,” Mutti said, “but also on fostering a supportive community and helping to remove some of the stigma surrounding alcohol use disorders.”
